Today we went to the only mainland Albatross Colony in the world on the Otago Peninsula near Dunedin. From the observatory, we could see 5 adults and one very small chick. It was hard to grasp the size of these birds watching through binoculars, but this photo gives you a rough idea. And I thought I had a respectable wingspan...
